Wolf Children Ame and Yuki Plush Pattern

Ame plush from the movie 'Wolf Children Ame and Yuki'. Watched this movie on a whim and fell in love with it. I just had to make the little wolf plushies Hana makes for Ame and Yuki, too cute! This is a straightforward, fairly easy pattern that'd be good for someone to cut their teeth on if they're just learning amigurumi. Simply switch the colors to make whichever one you want, I'm working on the Yuki version to go with Ame as we speak. I'll those pictures when it's done, any questions let me know! Pattern and more pics after the jump

The following pattern was written and designed by me and is copyrighted. You may not sell or reproduce this pattern in any way. Do not claim this pattern or plush as your own design. You may not sell this pattern. You may not sell what you make from this pattern. Please respect this, I spent a very long time designing this plush and pattern, there is a great deal of effort and love put into this. Thank you very much for your understanding.

Read pattern carefully before starting, particularly the instructions at the beginning of the pattern. There are also many tips throughout the pattern that will help you when making different pieces, be sure to read those too! Pictures at the end of the pattern will help with sewing stuff on.
The plush is about 6.5 in tall sitting, from the table to the top of the ears.

Materials:

* Dark blue yarn (for Ame) or  Red yarn (for Yuki)

*Black yarn
*White/cream yarn
*Small amount light blue (for Ame's scarf) or light red (for Yuki's Scarf)

*Large yarn needle for sewing pieces together

*Fiberfill/stuffing

*F hook

*Straight pins for pining pieces on before sewing them on

Note: there is no gauge for this pattern. The only thing that is important is that you have a tight stitch when crocheting so that no stuffing will show through the finished pieces. If you use the recommended hooks it should be fine but if you are someone who crochets more loosely you may want to reduce the hook size accordingly.

This pattern is worked in rounds (unless otherwise noted) and may use any of the following techniques/abbreviations:
Sc- single crochet
inc- increase
dec- decrease, particularly you should use the invisible decrease if you know how to do it
sc in each sc- single crochet in each single crochet, don't add any increases or decreases
R- round or row
hdc- half double crochet
dc- double crochet
Repeat (*)- repeat what is between the asterisks * until you come to the end of the round, unless otherwise indicated
ring- magic ring. If you cannot do this technique then you may substitute this: ch 2 and sc however many were supposed to go in the ring into the second ch. However this will leave a small hole in the piece, this is why the magic ring is preferred, it leaves no visible hole. Many tutorials on how to do the magic ring are available online.

The numbers in parenthesis at the end of each row are the number of stitches you should have when that row is done. Mark the start of each round with a marker and move this marker as you complete rows/rounds.

Most pieces are worked in the round unless otherwise indicated.

Back covering/fur (make in blue or red main body color)
Worked in rows. This covers the back of the body, see pictures for help. ch 1 and turn at the end of each row.
Row1- 3sc in ring, pull tight into a semi circle (3)
R2- *inc* (6)
R3- *1sc, inc* (9)

Now ch1 and crochet around the outside of the piece, going down the sides. Don't crochet across where the neck would be (across the flat part of the piece, the last row you just did, R21). Once you've crocheted around and reached the other side of the neck, ch1, turn, and crochet around the outside again till you are back on the side you started. You're crocheting two rows around the outside of the piece while not crocheting around the top, hope that makes sense. Leave long tail for sewing

Finish off, stuff and sew top closed.

Scarf (make 1 in Ame or Yuki's scarf color, either light blue or light red)
Worked in rows
Row1- ch 46, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each one after (45)
R2- ch 1 and turn, sc in each sc (45)

If your ears don't seem very pointy, try turning them inside out. Make sure the right side of the crochet is out

R3- 2 increases spread out evenly, sc in rest (7)

R2- inc, sc in rest (5)
R3- 2 increases spread out evenly, sc in rest (7)
R4-5- sc in each sc (7)
R6- put one increase in this round, sc in rest (8)

R8- sc in each sc (9)
R9- put one inc in the round, sc in rest (10)
R10-13- sc in each sc (10)

    1. I use red heart since it's cheap and readily available in many colors but any worsted weight yarn will do!

    1. I'm sorry but I don't have much free time to make a video but whatever you are confused about I am sure there is already a video about it on YouTube! ^_^ try looking up 'crochet magic ring' 'crocheting in the round' and 'amigurumi'. Also sc is just single crochet, and ch is just chain, if you're a beginner you probably already learned these but maybe they are called something else by you? Try googling around for videos and that should help a lot! Good luck!
